Study of our cultural resources, when designed as a collaborative effort between communities and professionals, can be a culturally and economically rewarding undertaking for a town of any size. The positive press generated by research and outreach programs can draw visitors to a community, call attention to a town's relationship with important historical figures and events, solidify a community's place in the local, state, and national historical landscape, as well as increase pride in shared history.
